What is PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy)?

In this method we take out around 20-30 ml of your blood and process it in a machine. By processing, we are able separate your platelets from other blood cells .These platelets are then injected into your scalp close to your hair root. When these platelets come in contact with your skin, they release various growth factors. These growth factors act on your hair root making them thicker, stronger and longer.

FPHL hair loss

When a person Male pattern hair loss (MPFL) or female patter hairloss (FMPL) undergo a prp session, you will see reduction in hairloss and increased in hair density. PRP also acts by stimulation of the stem cells present around the hair root. It also improves anchorage of hair to the skin by producing more extracellular matrix. It also causes new androgensis which means it produces new blood vessels in your hair follicles.

PRP therapy from tissue repair to hair loss

PRP has been around since the 1980s but it has become quite trendy recently. In 2006 a couple of scientists discovered that injecting PRP in troubled areas can help them heal. PRP procedure involves drawing platelet-rich plasma from your blood and injecting it back into your scalp. PRP contains growth factors and proteins that are important for promoting tissue healing.PRP therapy can help regrow hair by reversing the process that occurs in androgenetic alopecia.

PRP Therapy is a 3 step process.

Most patients require three treatments that are spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The Platelets Rich Plasma (PRP) is drawn up into a syringe and injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth. The injections are given over about three minutes and there are about 13 of them. The process can be quite painful because the scalp is very sensitive to injections because it has a lot of blood vessels and nerves.
